The woman appeared to be about 45 and she was fully dressed in a
pair of blue denim shorts and a white tank top now soaked in her own blood and
her throat had been ripped open as if an animal had attacked her. Blood and
tissue were found underneath her nails as if fending off her attacker and her
body was covered in animal hair.
The hair didn’t appear to be canine or human, the samples are
unknown at this time. The police say that this appears to be the same kind of
attack that killed a local woman in her own home six years earlier, her
daughter later finding her body on the floor of her bedroom. The police are
questioning whether the attacks are related to a case in Portland Maine more
than a decade ago when a woman was discovered in a secluded wooded area about a
mile from her home with the same type of wounds.
All the bodies with the exception of Annie were found in remote
areas. All the women suffered the same kind of death. Police are baffled and
are still investigating the deaths. At this time, they have no suspects and
aren’t sure that whomever killed these women were even human.”
Ashley trembled, folding the small clipping and handed it back
to him. “This is all so crazy. If it wasn’t that woman threatening you and Mom
and she’s dead, who killed them and why is everything that’s happening related
to your books?”
Stephen stood up, shoving his hands into the front pockets of
his jeans. “I wish I knew Ashley. Tell me something. Have you been getting any
letters or has anything been happening to you since your mother’s death?”
Ashley hesitated and wasn’t sure she wanted to tell him about
it. “I haven’t gotten any letters but the last few weeks, I’ve been having
bizarre dreams and there’s always the same umm Monster in them. I’ve been
dreaming about Pennywise.”
Stephen first half way grinned and then the ashen look on
Ashley’s face wiped away any amusement. “Tell me what happens in the dreams
Ashley.” He said seriously, taking his hands out of his pockets and sat down
again, this time next to her on the sofa.
She bit her lip and wasn’t sure how to begin.
